Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 15, 2026

This policy explains what data RoosterCV collects and how advertising and cookies are used.

Two ways to use RoosterCV

You can build and export a resume anonymously — that content is stored only in your browser's local storage, on your own device, and is never uploaded to our servers. If you choose to create an account to save resumes and get matched to roles, the information you save is stored on our servers so the service can work.

Information we process

  • Anonymous builder content — while you build without an account, your resume stays in your browser's local storage. You can clear it at any time by removing the resume or clearing your browser storage.
  • Account details — if you sign up, we store your email address, a securely hashed password, your display name, and (for HR accounts) your company name.
  • Saved resumes — resumes you save to your account are stored on our servers and used to match you to roles. You can edit or delete them from your dashboard.
  • Hiring activity — for HR accounts, the job postings, match settings, and invitations you create; for job seekers, the invitations you receive and any interest you signal in a role.
  • Standard server logs — like most websites, our hosting provider may process technical request data (such as IP address and user agent) to serve and secure the site.
  • Advertising and analytics cookies — set by Google AdSense when you consent (see below).

How your information is shared

Job seekers stay anonymous by default. When an employer browses candidates, they see only a cloaked profile — such as skills, years of experience, region, and a match score — never your name or contact details. Your full resume is shared with an employer only after you accept their invitation. We do not sell your personal information.

Advertising

This site is supported by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Cookie consent

When you first visit, we ask for your consent before enabling advertising cookies. If you decline, ad units are not rendered. You can change your choice by clearing this site's storage in your browser.

Children

This site is not directed to children under the age of 13.
